Our Teachers

Grace Wilkie

My name is Grace Wilkie and I was born and raised in Malaysia.  I came to Canada in 2008 with my two daughters. I learned how wonderful this preschool was when I was a parent in 2010.  I was so impressed how the children reacted to such an inviting, loving atmosphere and how they interacted with each other and their teachers.  I enjoyed watching my child grow and develop as she explored her surroundings in the classroom and at the playground.

After obtaining my Early Childhood Education, I am thrilled to have the privilege to be a teacher at Little Owls Preschool working along side with Becky and wonderful parents. Growing up in Malaysia, I am  fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, knitting, yarn shopping, and browsing for new knitting patterns

Rebecca Woodhouse

My name is Rebecca Woodhouse but everyone calls me Becky. I emigrated to Vancouver from Upper Slaughter a small village in England in 1997 together with my 2 young children and my husband. Before emigrating I ran a small preschool in the village where I lived.

In 2003, I graduated from Vancouver Community Collage with my ECE licence and have been at Kerrisdale Little Owls Preschool for almost 27 years now.

I absolutely love my role as a teacher and the people I work with; together, we have created a safe and happy environment where children can grow and flourish. I strongly believe that young children learn more through play than any other teaching experience. Play helps children engage with others, solve problems, communicate, share/ take turns and helps to build meaningful relationships which are often long lasting.

When I'm not working, I love to spend spend time with my family and friends enjoying home cooked food, reading, puzzles and creating a home .
